Coker Mission--Every Child, Every Day

We support and foster a positive community of successful, life-long learners and leaders by meeting the needs of every individual while challenging each one to reach full potential.

Jingle Bell 5K Walk/Run

Please join me rain or shine for this cluster community event! It has been a while since I last participated in a 5K so I would love to have a Coker team synergizing together in a wellness effort.

Spring 2016 Cooperating Teachers

The Human Resources Staff Development Department is receiving requests from universities to place student teachers in our District for the spring 2016 semester. We need cooperating teachers interested in mentoring a student teacher to help develop these students to become outstanding professional educators. Principals need to approve each teacher based on the following criteria.

  1. Teachers who have a personal desire to work with a student teacher
  2. Teachers who value student teaching as a learning experience
  3. Teachers who will accept the student teacher as a fellow professional
  4. Teachers who are fully certified in the area they are teaching
  5. Teachers who are willing to work with university supervisors
  6. Teachers who have at least 3 years of teaching experience
  7. Teachers who are recommended by their principal

Please let Tiffany know if you are interested in this opportunity no later than 3:00pm Tuesday, December 1, 2015.

Student Attendance Reporting

Student attendance is due each school day between 9:15-9:30. Teachers are responsible for submitting student attendance on time. This could be a leadership role in your classroom. Find a child who can listen for the attendance bell and remind the teacher. Attendance reporting is reflected in your PDAS.

2015 ISP Summary Report

The 2015 Individual Success Plan Summary Report shows that Coker Elementary was one of the twelve elementary schools to achieve 100% completion in Math, Reading, Writing and Science. Way to go all K-5 classroom teachers! Please take Tuesday, December 1st to kick back in your favorite blue jeans!

Photo of the Month

Coker students get into the spirit after reading “Not Norman: A Goldfish Story” by Kelly Bennett.

Congratulations to Coker for winning the November Photo of the Month. This photo will also be the District’s Facebook cover photo, and in the NEISD parent newsletter, with an audience of thousands.
