A note from the Head of School

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year!

I hope everyone had a great summer. We are excited to have all of our new and returning scholars back for the start of the school year. Our teachers and staff have begun working to prepare the building for your return.

As we prepare to return next week here are several reminders to make the first week of school a success. First, all students are to report to school on August 21st. CSA will not have a staggered start for any grade level. On the first day, your scholar will have a grade-level orientation to review expectations for their new classes and have a chance to ask important questions to their teachers. Next, lockers will be assigned throughout the first week of school. Lockers are clustered by grade level. Please remind your scholar to not share lockers with classmates. Finally, scholars will be expected to be school ready. This means learning will begin immediately in our classrooms. We have big goals this school year and want to get off to a great start.

Important times to remember

Doors open at 8:00 am
The first class is at 8:35 am
The school day ends at 3:05 pm
There are no after-school activities this first week of school

Scholars can meet their teachers and staff on Friday, August 18th at the Back to School Bash from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm. This year the bash will be located inside the school. There will be food vendors, live music, and of course...teachers! School supplies will be passed out as well.

Transportation

Scholars who live within the City of Cleveland will receive an RTA bus pass. The bus pass is directly linked to their CMSD student ID card. All scholars will receive their CMSD ID card on the first day of school during grade-level orientation.

Please ensure your scholar arrives at school on time by reviewing their specific bus route. Tardies will be tracked beginning on the first day of school.

Athletics

The Athletic Department is hosting the Fall Sport parent meeting this year. This meeting is MANDATORY for all student-athletes/coaches participating in a Fall Sport( Soccer, Football, GXC, BXC, Golf, Volleyball). Make sure you sign-in.

JH coaches are Required to attend as well.

The Postsecondary Planning System assists student support teams with identifying services for students in academic, health, and social/emotional areas. The system also provides school and community leaders with a large-scale view of each student’s progress along the pathway to high school graduation and postsecondary education success.
