Just Past Mid-Quarter
We are now more than halfway through our third quarter-mester and our second week of this new transition with students both remote and in-person. Students, Teachers and Staff have been getting accustomed to the new routines and procedures, and working out issues and hiccups we've encountered. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we've all worked to get our feet underneath us and answer lots of questions!
CLIMATE SURVEY -
- You are invited to participate in the annual School Climate Parent Survey! The survey is anonymous and results are used to understand and improve the educational climate of our schools. Below is a link to the survey site:

- Thank you in advance for your participation! The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete and is currently open through Friday, February 28.
PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES: Next Week!
- Parent-Teacher Conferences are coming up, and PowerPTC will open on Friday, Feb.5th at 8:00 am to allow you to start scheduling your conferences.
- The site will stay open for scheduling through Monday, February 15th, 3:00.
- You can access the PowerPTC through a link in your Parent PowerSchool account located on the upper right-hand side of the PowerSchool home page.
- Scheduled conference times are 8 minutes long. Your promptness for scheduled appointments is greatly appreciated.
- For families that do not have PowerSchool, internet /computer access, or miss the sign-up window period of Feb 5 – Feb 15, but would still like to schedule their appointment times, you may call 479-4221 for help in setting up a parent PowerSchool account and getting your child scheduled.
Conference times and dates are as follows: - Monday, Feb 15th, 10:00 - 1:00 & 2:00 - 6:30
- Tuesday, Feb 16th, 8:00 - 12:00 & 1:00 - 3:15

Attendance Alerts - REACTIVATED
Parents/Guardians,
Now that teachers are taking attendance again, you will now be receiving attendance alerts when your students is marked Absent Unexcused or Truant from a class period. These alerts should come by phone and email. If you have questions, please give us a call.
How do I excuse an absence?
- A parent can call the front office to excuse an absence within 2 school days of that absence.
SENIORS- Important information about the Alaska Performance Scholarship (APS)!
In order to qualify for the APS you MUST have a qualifying ACT or SAT score.
Though there is a chance this requirement may be waived, you need to be prepared with a qualifying score!
Check the websites for more information and additional testing dates.
