February 2024 (Where the Arts Come Alive)
Message from the Principal
Dear Holladay Families,
I am thrilled to announce that the month of February will be dedicated to celebrating our love of reading here at Holladay! Reading is not just a fundamental skill; it's a gateway to endless adventures, knowledge, and discovery. Throughout February, we will immerse ourselves in the joy of reading, exploring new worlds, meeting fascinating characters, and embarking on thrilling adventures within the pages of books. Our school will come alive with the magic of storytelling as we engage in various reading activities and initiatives designed to inspire a lifelong love of reading among our students.
As part of our celebration, we will be inviting special guests, including authors, community members, and local leaders, to share their favorite stories and insights with our students. These enriching experiences will not only foster a deeper appreciation for literature but also provide valuable opportunities for our students to connect with inspiring individuals who share their passion for reading. I encourage all students, families, and staff members to participate wholeheartedly in our month-long celebration of reading. Whether it's curling up with a beloved book, attending a guest reading session, or sharing recommendations with friends, let's embrace the magic of reading and ignite our imaginations together.
Let us celebrate the power of stories to inspire, educate, and transform lives. Together, let's make February a month to remember as we cultivate a community of passionate readers here at Holladay.
Happy reading, Red Hawks!
Love,
Mrs. Humphries, M. Ed.

Why is ATTENDANCE so important?
Academic Progress: Attending school regularly allows students to stay engaged with the curriculum and keep up with lessons, leading to better academic performance.
Social Development: School provides a crucial environment for children to interact with peers, develop social skills, and build relationships, which are essential for their emotional and social well-being.
Structured Learning: School attendance instills discipline and helps students develop a routine, fostering good habits that are valuable throughout life.
Preparation for the Future: Regular attendance teaches responsibility and punctuality, skills that are highly valued in the workforce and everyday life.
Legal Requirement: In many places, school attendance is mandatory by law, and consistent attendance ensures compliance with legal obligations.
In summary, school attendance is important not only for academic success but also for personal and social development, preparing students for their future roles in society.
