MEET OUR TEAMS
Office Staff
SCHOOL SITE COUNCIL
The School Site Council is made up of the principal, three teachers, five parents and one classified staff employee. Each member has an equal voice to provide input and support for school improvement programs and school budget. Meetings are held the first Tuesday of the month. Members of the School Site Council are elected by their peers to serve a two-year term.
What school site council does?
The Council’s purpose is to propose school wide goals, i.e., “85% of the 2nd-5th graders will score at the Proficient Level or above in Math, as measured by the California Standards Test.” The goals must be directly related to improving student achievement. The council also recommends the allocation of funds, in compliance with federal and state laws, to meet those goals. The goals, review of data, and budget are components of the annual Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA).
We are seeking nominations for three parents or community members on the site council for the 2022 - 2023 and 2023 - 2024 school years. Returning parents and community members are Lora Marconi and Ranjitha Rajashekar. If you would like to nominate someone, please ask them first, or nominate yourself.
Please submit this form by September 20.
Meetings are virtual and held the first Thursday of every month from 7 a.m. to 7:50 a.m.
HIGH HEAT PRECAUTIONS
Procedures are in place as we enter warmer weather.
When in the low 90s degrees blacktop is closed. Lunch recess will be in the MPR; PE and other activities will be modified - no running or strenuous activities.
When the temperature is in the Mid-nineties and above no outdoor PE or held under a shade structure, Blacktop closed to all, indoor or shade options available for students during recess and lunch.
When the temperature is 100+ we will treat like a rainy day and have indoor lunch/recess: eating outdoors may be an option in the shade structure depending on the conditions.
NEWS FROM FOOD AND NUTRITION
FREE AND REDUCED -PRICE MEAL APPLICATION
Although school breakfast and lunch are now free for all students, the California Universal Meals Program still requires districts to process applications for free and reduced-price meals. This ensures the State maximizes the portion of meal reimbursement that comes from the Federal government (USDA), and minimizes the amount paid by the State of California. Free and reduced-price meal eligibility also continues to be a key factor in Unduplicated Pupil Count, which helps determine District funding. Please encourage families to apply for free and reduced-price meal eligibility at MySchoolApps.com, or by completing a paper application (available in all school offices).
PANDEMIC-EBT BENEFITS
The CDE recently announced that another round of Pandemic-EBT benefits will be distributed starting in November, to assist eligible families in purchasing groceries. Students will receive P-EBT benefits if they meet criteria related to free and reduced-price meal eligibility. To ensure benefit cards go to the correct households, the CDE requests that schools ensure student addresses are correct in Synergy prior to October 1, 2022.
STUDENT WELLNESS POLICY - FOOD AT SCHOOL EVENTS
Homemade Food Items - To ensure food safety, all food to be shared with other students should be commercially prepared, prepackaged, unopened, and, when possible, individually wrapped. Foods prepared at home may be used only for individual student and staff lunches/snacks, and consumed by staff members only on a voluntary basis. (Basically – no potlucks or homemade food for students)
All foods sold or served at school should have a food label listing ingredients so students with food allergies are protected from accidental exposure.
Classroom snack, celebrations, and food rewards should be limited and should feature healthy food choices that meet the district’s nutrition standards.
I-READY
After completing assessments, students will be assigned lessons that perfectly match their needs. Please look for information from your child's teacher regarding their initial performance as well as their next steps. Please click the link below for more information.
