STAAR TEST - 3RD & 4TH GR. MATH AND READING -- CAMPUS CLOSED MAY 10TH-13TH

The 3rd and 4th grade math and reading STAAR tests will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 10th and 11th. Please ensure that your child gets a good night's rest, eats a healthy breakfast and arrives to school on time.


Due to the testing in the building, we would like to remind parents that because of test security and confidential integrity, our campus will be closed to all visitors and parent volunteers from May 10th through May 13th. If there are not many makeup tests, then the campus may be reopened to visitors. If this is the case, we will notify you by email. We appreciate your help and understanding for keeping our campus secure.

In honor of all of our wonderful volunteers who make David Elementary so successful, the teachers and staff would like to invite you to a Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon on Tuesday, May 17th, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Please note that there will be a PTO Meeting immediately following the luncheon.

The Fourth Grade Program, "The Magic of Fourth Grade," will be held on Thursday, May 19th, at 2:00 and 6:00 p.m. Due to limited seating, we encourage families to attend the evening performance.

INCOMING 22-23 KINDERGARTEN ORIENTATION

Incoming Kindergartners and parents are invited to join us for Kindergarten Orientation on Thursday, May 12, 2022, from 6 - 7 pm. This is a come and go event. We will also be sending out a link to an Informational Video prior to May 12th. Please take a few minutes to view this video prior to coming to the Orientation. FOURTH GRADE WALK OF HONOR - THURSDAY, MAY 26TH - 9 AM

On Thursday, May 26th, beginning at 9:00 am, we will be having a special Fourth Grade "Walk of Honor" as we celebrate our fourth grade students who will be leaving David Elementary. This year, the route will include a portion that is outside. Our Fourth Grade parents are invited to gather outside in our playground area where we will have you line the route to cheer on our students. So that we may begin promptly at 9:00, please help us by arriving early. You are welcome to bring instruments, party blowers, etc...anything that will make noise (please no Silly String, confetti, or anything that is difficult to clean up). If you have any questions, please call us at 281-298-4700 or reach out to your child's teacher.

Registration Intention Forms for the 2022-2023 school year have been emailed to you from your teacher. Please fill these out as soon as possible. If you did not receive a form or if you have any questions, please email Lori McCraw at lmccraw@conroeisd.net or call 281-298-4700.

A link is listed below for parents to sign up to have lunch with his/her child. We are still only allowing one parent, per child for this sign up period. Due to limited space, we will only be able to allow one parent per day, per student, for a total of 8 per grade level.


Please note that there will not be any lunch visitors permitted May 10th through May 13th due to STAAR testing.


Just a few reminders:


  • One parent, per child during each sign up period
  • Please put your student's name and teacher in the comments section
  • Parents, please bring your own lunch -- Your child can still purchase from the cafeteria
  • You may bring an outside lunch for your child, but just remind him/her not to order from the cafeteria
  • Bring your driver's license for check-in

CISD SUMMER SCHOOL

Conroe ISD is offering several summer school programs, including Academic Enrichment and Robotics. The locations, dates, and costs will vary, depending on the course. Registration can be completed online at: www.conroeisd.net. The deadline to register is May 6th. Students should be registered in the grade level that they were enrolled in during the 2021-2022 school year. Transportation will not be provided.

2022 - 2023 SCHOOL SUPPLIES AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE NOW

School supplies for the 2022 - 2023 school year are now available for purchase. Packets are only available through the EPI website at www.educationalproducts.com/shoppacks. Once you are on this website, you will enter the school ID, DAV003. The deadline to order is May 26th. The cost for the supplies is $65 (KG & 1st) and $60 (2nd, 3rd & 4th) plus tax. If you purchase the supplies from EPI, it will include the David Planner. All supply orders will be delivered directly to your child's classroom before the beginning of school in the fall.


**Please note that we will not have extra packets on hand in the fall, so purchase your supplies early.

SPIRIT STICKS AVAILABLE ON MEMBERSHIP TOOLKIT - ORDER DEADLINE IS MAY 15TH

What are Spirit Sticks? Spirit Sticks are small embroidered key tags that can be worn on a ring on a backpack, lunch box, etc. Some are used as a fun student reward or kids collect them. Parents may also purchase additional Spirit Sticks or key rings on the Membership Toolkit site.
