WBSD Update
A weekly update from the West Bloomfield School District
March 13, 2020
After the Governor's announcement that all K-12 schools will be closed March 16 - April 5, this proactive work will be vital in moving instruction forward.
Please continue to check your emails for regular updates from the district and please access our district website for more information on COVID-19 and our Cloud Learning transition.
SchoolMessenger SMS Messaging Support - Coming Soon!
Our district will soon be able to utilize the SchoolMessenger system to deliver text messages, straight to your mobile phone with important information about events, school closings, safety alerts and more. This resource is on top of the emails and phone messages you already receive from SchoolMessenger.
You can participate in this service just by sending a text message of “Y” or “Yes” to our district’s short code number, 67587.
Once our opt-in period has completed, we hope to utilize this community tool by early-April 2020.
You can also opt-out of these messages at any time by simply replying to one of our
messages with “Stop”.
SchoolMessenger is compliant with the Student Privacy PledgeTM, so you can rest assured that your information is safe and will never be given or sold to anyone.

Pay to Participate Update - Spring 2020
Athletics has a new fee structure for district sports. This does not include club sports. We now have a ONE time fee for athletics. This is a change from the tiered structure that West Bloomfield School District had used for years, which required students to pay based on the number of sports they participated in each year.
The one-time fee structure for athletics will be as follows:
High School Level:
Regular Rate $325
Free/Reduced Lunch Rate $160
Middle School Level:
Regular Rate $225
Free/Reduced Lunch Rate $110
A family cap of $800, still applies for all athletes in the family, including both Middle School and High School Level. It is a “true” family cap.
Pay to participate fees for athletics can be paid online with a credit card at the link below:
http://www.payforit.net/
Fees can be paid in cash or by check at the West Bloomfield High School Athletic Office as well.
**For Self-Funded Sports: Please contact coach for your payment options. (e.g. Field Hockey, Equestrian, Snowboarding, Figure Skating, Gymnastics, Boys Lacrosse, Girls Lacrosse, and Sailing)
