Fall Parent Teacher Conferences – Coming Soon!
English Landing Families,
English Landing will host our Fall Parent Teacher Conferences on October 23rd from 5 to 8 PM, and again on October 24th from 12 to 8 PM. To schedule conferences, we will use a simple Pick-A-Time format. This is a different format from the Spring 2019 conferences, so registering again may be needed for all parents.
If you have any issues, please contact your child’s teacher to assist you in scheduling a time. Please note at the end of the directions there are details regarding special circumstances when scheduling multiple students with the same teacher, in specialty areas OR if separate conferences are needed for sets of parents. Thank you for your time, and we look forward to meeting with each of our Eagle Families!
Sincerely,
English Landing Staff
Conference Scheduling Directions
Step 1:
Please visit: https://pickatime.com/EnglishLandingConferences
Register (new users) *Most families will need to register as this login is different from last Spring for student led conferences.
1. Enter your email address and push "Login/Create Account".
2. Fill in the required fields and register.
If you've previously registered, all you need to do is enter your email and password. If you have forgotten your password, you can select the Forgot Password button and a new password will be emailed to you.
Step 2:
Scheduling
1. You will see a list of teachers. Select the box next to the teacher name(s) that you would like to schedule a conference with. *Note- we ask that you ONLY schedule a conference with a teacher that your student works with at English Landing. If it is noted that you have signed up for a teacher that does not work with your student, you will be asked to reschedule.
2. You will then see the schedule of available times for those teachers. (If there are fewer than ten teachers at the school you will see the availability of all teachers).
3. Each colored square represents an available meeting time. The legend shows you which teacher corresponds to which color and the times increase as you go down the page.
4. Click on a square to schedule that time.
5. You will optionally have the choice of setting a time when you would like an email reminder to be delivered, and you will be prompted to enter in the name of your student.
6. Click on “Create Appointment”.
7. Repeat until you have a time with each teacher you need to meet with that works with your student.
· You can click on the “Printable Schedule” link located on the top right corner and print the resulting web page to get a hard copy of your schedule. You will also have the option to email the schedule to yourself.
· If you want to make changes to your schedule you can click on the “Your Schedule” link, OR you can login at any other time with your email and password.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have two or more children at the school with the SAME teacher
(Specialty Areas)
1. Register / Sign In with one parent’s name and email address and register.
2. Schedule the first student’s conference time and log out of scheduler.
3. Register / Sign In with the second parent’s name and email address and register. If you do not have a second email address you would like to use, simply use the following format: yourfirstname.yourlastname@noemail.com.
4. Schedule the second student’s conference time and log out of the scheduler.
It is not necessary to do this if you have two or more children at the school with different teachers.
IF you have sets of parents needing separate conference times Pick-A-Time does not set this up under one login. Each parent will need to register and set up their conference times for each child.
Thank you!!
Expanding our Art Room Walls Through Artsonia
English Landing Families,
I am excited to be reinstating Artsonia for our students this year. Artsonia is an art portfolio website that students can utilize to share their artwork with friends and families as well as keep a record of their artwork throughout their school careers. It is an excellent resource for me as it helps me track student progress throughout the year and into future years.
Over the past week I have been handing out sign in information so students can access their accounts at home. Please let me know if you have questions or need help acccessing Artsonia at home.

Reminder: CALL BOX System at Front Entrance
Parents/guardians are welcome to request a visit to the school. When planning to visit, please contact the office at least one day in advance so the building principal can set a schedule. The principal has the discretion to set reasonable parameters on school visits (length of stay, number of visitors, etc.). Visitors should limit their visit to the area(s) of the building they have indicated upon check-in with the office. Unauthorized persons found on school property may be subject to arrest or other legal action.
Will all Exterior Doors be LOCKED During the School Day? Visitors must enter the building using the front doors and report to the office. If a visitor needs to enter the building farther than the school office or check out a student, the visitor must register by presenting a valid, state-issued ID to the school’s office staff. Any visit after the first registration will only require a visitor to check in at a kiosk using a valid, state-issued ID.
Do I need to bring my state-issued ID every time when visiting English Landing? Yes. Visitors entering the school beyond the office must present a valid, state-issued ID and receive a printed ID sticker that must be worn and visible during the entire stay. Friends of students may not be brought to school or arrive at school as visitors. Unruly or disruptive conduct by visitors that interferes with the educational environment or with extracurricular activities may result in limited access or revocation of visitor privileges to school property or functions.
What is the process for eating lunch with my child? In most cases, parents/guardians are allowed to visit school and eat lunch with their child. The school, however, reserves the right to limit lunch visits in appropriate circumstances. Parents/guardians planning to eat lunch with their child should notify the school office one day in advance. Bringing outside restaurant food is strongly discouraged. If parents or family members want to join their child for lunch they are encouraged to eat school lunch or bring a sack lunch from home. If parents or family members choose to bring restaurant food to English Landing, which is strongly discouraged in the 2019-2020 Park Hill handbook, then an alternative location will be arranged.
Celebrating Birthdays at English Landing!
Celebrating Student Birthdays: (Park Hill Parent/Student Handbook pages 39-40):
We are happy to celebrate student birthdays and half birthdays (if your child has a summer birthday) at English Landing! To protect the health and safety of our students, families may bring pre-packaged treats to school to share with classmates. In order to address any known allergy concerns, a label listing ingredients should be affixed to the package. Due to allergies and other food intolerances, please consult with your classroom teacher before the pre-packaged treats are brought to school. As a healthier alternative, Park Hill Food Service offers a variety of nutritious treats that may be purchased.
At English Landing we need your HELP! Many birthday treats arrive at the beginning of the school day which provides us time to review the class list regarding food allergies or food intolerances, however, many other birthday treats arrive during lunch and often right at the same time the treat needs to be distributed to students. PLEASE plan on arriving earlier for lunch (at least 15 minutes) to give us time to check the pre-packaged treat ingredients with the students in the classroom who have food allergies or food intolerances. Our school nurse, Mrs. Kimbrel, will help with this process so when the lunchroom staff teachers distribute the treat in the cafeteria, additional steps have been taken to ensure we are protecting the health and safety of our eagles.
Please remember: If you want your child to distribute birthday party invitations at school, they will only be distributed if there is a party invitation for everyone in the classroom. Thank you!
