Children in Years 5 and 6 are becoming more independent readers but may still require support with reading of a range of texts. It is a good idea at this age to read widely; read a variety of genres. At AHS we have our books shelved by genre. These are:
- Adventure
- Comedy
- Drama
- Fantasy
- Global
- Historical
- Mystery
- Romance
- Science Fiction
- Graphic Novels
and Junior Non-Fiction
Below are some suggested texts that are in these genres.
