iCentre transformation
First of all I'd like to thank everyone for making me feel so welcome at SSCL. I'm really enjoying working at the school.
You've probably noticed the Library has changed names and lots has happened to make the space more creative, innovative and interactive. If you haven't been over to have a look - please pop in! *(I have Pod coffee, so bring along your mug and milk!)

Working with the Teacher Librarian
Apart from managing the iCentre space and creating an environment for learning, I am first and foremost a teacher. Working in a team planning and teaching environment is the last piece of the puzzle for me here as I settle in and I'm keen to connect with subject teachers that would like to create tasks that emphasise digital and information literacy.
I'd be more than pleased to do any of the following:
- Collaboratively plan and teach tasks that reflect the General Capabilities ICT Aus Curriculum.
- Assist teachers to create tasks that reflect the transformative 'above the line' aspects of the SAMR model.
- Team teach during research sessions in the iCentre across all subject areas.
- Work with teachers to create iBooks / iTunes U courses for iPad. (I'm learning this myself at the moment but it has huge potential).
- Present a 'mini lesson' to your class on information literacy skills such as online search strategies, searching and citing copyright free images etc.
- Present 'how to' sessions for students using ipad or online apps.
- How to notetake using ipad apps, and online tools.
- Work with individual student groups to help them work through their research and presentation needs.
If you have something in mind yourself, just be in touch and we can work something out.
