25 Days Of Sharing, Creating & Fun!
Library & Technology Resources For You & Your Students

On the first day I want to share Buncee...my favorite creation and presentation tool for students and eductors!
You can get to eduBuncee at this link.

Click below each Buncee picture to see the interactive digital story come to life!

On the second day we want to share Cantata Learning....our favorite stories and songs for the youngest learners!
You can get to Cantata Learning here.

Not only is the music included on a CD in the back of the book, every title is also available online at CantataLearning.com making access easy anywhere, anytime!
It is so easy for them to sing and dance along in the library, classroom and at home!

There are so many ways you can use Cantata Learning books and music to support learning.
If you have a lesson using a Cantata Learning book and/or song that you'd like to share with the community, send it our way!

On the third day we are sharing this awesome Symbaloo packed full of digital generator tools!

On the fourth day, we want to share Jeopardy Rocks...one of our favorite online Jeopardy games!
And this is one of the 2016 AASL Best Websites too!
You can get to Jeopardy Rocks here.

Once logged in, it is easy to create a New Game and see the ones you have created.
Let's look at two of my Jeopardy Rocks games as examples.

I created a game called PebbleGo Fall to use with the first graders as they research fall using Capstone's PebbleGo Science.

I created four categories for the main topics they researched including Apples, Pumpkins, Fall and Harvest.

I paid close attention to the vocabulary, highlighted in orange, within each article.

I also wanted to share this super fun Holiday Trivia Fun Jeopardy Rocks game!

Once again, with Jeopardy Rocks I added images and videos making this extra fun for Hagan and his 5th grade friends.

It would be super fun to create a Christmas Jeopardy Rocks using the article and information in PebbleGo too!

On the fifth day, we want to share Google Santa Tracker....one of our favorite coding sites for Hour of Code!

Storyboard That is perfect for creating storyboards, graphic organizers, and powerful visual assets.

And just look how you can use it during the holiday season!

On the seventh day we want to share Creative Commons 0 License (CC0) and places to find CC0 images.
As a lot of these digital tools and library resources use images and other content, we all need to make sure we are educated about the different Creative Common licenses.

It is also important to know where we can find Creative Commons CC0 1.0 images and other content.

I created the Creative Commons 0 License Smore for all of us to teach our students, teachers and parents about this too!

On the eighth day, we wanted to share....MackinMaker, our favorite spot for making!

You will find so many wonderful materials including....

MackinMaker Books, Build Your Own Custom Collections, MackinMaker Kits and Horizon Education Kits.

I love the Maker Book list! There is something for everyone.

As you can see, there a variety of engaging, high-quality products and kits just waiting for you too!

On the ninth day, we want to share EPIC....a free online library for students, educators and teacher librarians with over 15,000 eBooks!

Your students will all have individual profiles and receive recommendations based on reading level and interests.

In EPIC you can search for any topic. I searched "Christmas" and....

Winter! Just look at all of the wonderful resources for each!

Click below to get to EPIC and start this amazing new reading adventure with your students too!

On the tenth day, we want to share this wonderful winter Symbaloo filled with digital tools, eBooks, databases, snowflake creators, storytelling tools and much more.

On the eleventh day, we want to share the Winter Around The World global story created last year as part of the Cantata Learning Harmony Project from 2015.

For this project, we invited young people, teacher librarians, educators and families to participate in the Winter Around the World Project inspired by the Cantata Learning book, Winter...The Coldest Season of All. They created stories, songs, poems, illustrations, recipes and so much more to make this a global story with over 250 schools participating from China, Dubai, United Kingdom, Australia, England, United States and others.

This video will be used as an advocacy tool to increase awareness of the importance of bringing coding programs, activities and events, such as Hour of Code, to libraries and communities.
“Libraries are community hubs for learning a variety of skills relevant to modern life, and computational thinking skills learned through coding are among the most critical,” said ALA President Julie B. Todaro. “By showing what libraries can and are already doing to build a successful future for our nation’s youth, the Libraries Ready to Code video powerfully communicates the infrastructure of expertise and resources found in school and public libraries.”

This video is part of the "Libraries Ready To Code Project" which was introduced earlier this year. It is the first in a series of videos that will come out in 2017.
Read all about the "Libraries Ready To Code" project above.

On the thirteenth day, we would love to share Storyline Online...a wonderful online reading community for children!
