On the second day we want to share Cantata Learning....our favorite stories and songs for the youngest learners!

There are also QR codes in three different places, including the back of the book. All they have to do is scan the QR code and it will take them to the story and song.
It is so easy for them to sing and dance along in the library, classroom and at home!
As you can see, it is easy to stream or download each Cantata Learning title from the site.
I love how the sheet music can be downloaded too!
On the fourth day, we want to share Jeopardy Rocks...one of our favorite online Jeopardy games!
It is free, easy and loads of fun!

I would highly recommend upgrading to this version. It is reasonable and well worth it with the ability to add these engaging elements to your games.

I love the "Code A Snowflake" activity from December 4! How fun!

On the ninth day, we want to share EPIC....a free online library for students, educators and teacher librarians with over 15,000 eBooks!

EPIC received the AASL Best Website and Best App Award in 2016! This wonderful resource is filled with not only eBooks, but videos and audio books too!
On the eleventh day, we want to share the Winter Around The World global story created last year as part of the Cantata Learning Harmony Project from 2015.
This project and story was inspired by "Winter...The Coldest Season of All" from Cantata Learning, a beautiful wintery story and song. You can find it here.
For this project, we invited young people, teacher librarians, educators and families to participate in the Winter Around the World Project inspired by the Cantata Learning book, Winter...The Coldest Season of All. They created stories, songs, poems, illustrations, recipes and so much more to make this a global story with over 250 schools participating from China, Dubai, United Kingdom, Australia, England, United States and others.
We brought together all of these wonderful projects created with the voices, minds and hands from children around the world. We hope you have a beautiful season and enjoy these special winter stories too.
On the twelfth day, we want to share the new Libraries Ready to Code video. This was released on December 8, 2016 by ALA and Rosen Publishing during Computer Science Education Week.
This video will be used as an advocacy tool to increase awareness of the importance of bringing coding programs, activities and events, such as Hour of Code, to libraries and communities.
“Libraries are community hubs for learning a variety of skills relevant to modern life, and computational thinking skills learned through coding are among the most critical,” said ALA President Julie B. Todaro. “By showing what libraries can and are already doing to build a successful future for our nation’s youth, the Libraries Ready to Code video powerfully communicates the infrastructure of expertise and resources found in school and public libraries.”
