State and Federal School Report Card
The report provides information concerning student performance on the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR), as well as information on student enrollment, class size averages, and financial expenditures. The information contained in the School Report Card is described in the “School Report Card Definitions.” The Federal Report Card is also available at https://tea.texas.gov/texas-schools/accountability/academic-accountability/performance-reporting/federal-report-cards.

- Planetary Defense Mission - Schimelpfenig, March 11 at 3pm, All Ages.
Hear about NASA’s Double Asteroid Redirect Test which changed the course of an asteroid through kinetic impact. Presented by Les Murray, NASA Solar System Ambassador. - Trains! Trains! Trains! - Haggard, March 11 and March 12. No tickets required.
Bring your favorite train lover to see the Narrow Gauge model train exhibit provided by Spring Creek Model Railroad Club. - A Plan for My Money - Davis, March 21 at 6:30pm. All Ages.
Wonder how money works? Learn through fun activities about earning, spending and saving your money. - STEAM Emporium - Haggard, April 7 at 3pm. All Ages.
Can you solve a problem with $5.00? Use play money to purchase materials and complete a STEAM challenge. - Intro to 3D Printing - Parr, April 22 at 3:00pm. All Ages.
See a 3D Printing machine, and learn about the manufacturing process to make three dimensional objects.
With a library card, Tutor.com offers one-on-one, online tutoring in English and en Español. Available test prep assistance includes GED, ACT, PSAT, SAT, AP, and U.S. Citizenship Test. Pronunciator is a great resource for learning to speak, read and write any of 163 languages including ESL.

The Hughston PTA Nominating Committee is now accepting nominations for Executive Officer positions for next year’s PTA Executive Committee. If you or someone you know would be interested in volunteering for one of the positions, please let us know. The following are the open positions:

- 1 st VP Programs
- 2 nd VP Communications
- 3 rd VP Ways and Means
- 4 th VP Volunteers
Our goal is to see that every parent has a voice on our PTA and is given the chance to become actively involved in enriching the educational opportunities at our school. You may nominate as many candidates as you choose; however, you must use a separate submission for each recommendation. Thank you for supporting our PTA! Elections will be March 28 th , 6pm, in the Hughston Elementary Cafeteria.

Parent Virtual Learning Workshops
Plano ISD school social workers are facilitating Virtual Learning Workshops to include important skills such as how to talk to your students about the dangers of fentanyl, opioids and THC.
