Cafeteria Deli Line Update: Beginning on 2/18 and until further notice, the deli will be a "build your own" style line. Students can enter the line, grab a pre-made "basic" sandwich/wrap, then go down the line and add their own toppings (lettuce, tomato, onions, peppers, etc.). Basic sandwiches/wraps will only have meat and American cheese. Students will top their own sandwiches with whatever other items they would like. Pickles will be kept in 4oz lidded containers. Aramark asks that students take one per sandwich. Additional cups of pickles will be charged at $0.50 each.
Reminders:
Course Selection 2020-2021: Course selection for the 2020-2021 school year will take place in school during individual counseling sessions between students and their respective counselors sometime between February 10 and March 6. Individual sessions will allow for specialized confidential conversations between each student and their counselor. Students will receive a pass from the Counseling Department when the individual session is scheduled. Parents will then have an opportunity to view these requests after they have been made. In advance of the period of course selection, please review the Program Planning Guide (PPG) with your child so that he or she is prepared to engage in dialogue with the counselor.
Program Planning Guide (PPG): The Program Planning Guide, or PPG, is the document that explains course selection in detail and outlines all the specific information regarding credit requirements for graduation, specific information relative to grade-level, course descriptions and prerequisite requirements. The PPG for the 2020-2021 school year is posted on the MHS web page. While considering possible courses to request, please also make note of the Waiver Policy, mentioned in a previous Happenings email. Information regarding the Waiver Policy can also be found on the MHS website. Please visit this link to view the PPG and Waiver Policy.
Advanced Placement (AP) and Dual Enrollment: MHS offers a multitude of AP and Dual Enrollment courses. Please visit this link to view a video about AP and Dual Enrollment courses as you consider course selection for the 2020-2021 school year.
Handbook Corner:
Communication: In addition to the bi-weekly High School Happenings email, there are two additional forms of communication through which MHS parents can stay current with activities, events, and announcements.
- MHS Website: The MHS website includes news, announcements, calendar items, and site shortcuts to commonly used documents and forms. Click here to visit the website.
- Konstella System: The Home and School Association uses the Konstella system for all communication. This system will enable you to receive all Home and School announcements as well as a copy of the Warrior News morning announcements that your child receives each morning through our television studio. Click here for directions for signing up for Konstella.
