Red Ribbon Week activities
We will be celebrating Red Ribbon Week October 21-October 25.
Elementary Campus:
Monday: Red-dy Day - Wear Red for Drug Awareness
Tuesday: Sock It To Drugs - Crazy Socks Day
Wednesday: Don't Let Drugs Ruin Your Dreams - Pajama and crazy hair day
Thursday: Don't Hide...Be Drug Free - Camo Day
Friday: Team Up Against Drugs - Pirate Pride - wear pirate spirit attire
Officer Cooley and Mrs. Morgan will team up during the week to speak with the kids on drug awareness and play some games.
Drug awareness trinkets will be given to kids daily.
Secondary Campus:
We will be showing a short 5-6 minute video each day in which a celebrity explains what their "natural high" is. There is also a small giveaway item for your 2nd period students each day. Here's the schedule:

CPISD New Staff

Secondary Campus
Mrs.Menzies is a new 6th grade teacher. She graduated from Baytown Sterling and attended college at Texas A&M. She has been teaching for seventeen years. She became a teacher so she could be a part of her children’s lives and the lives of other children. She was also influenced by the many teachers in her family. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.
Sports Summary
HS Volleyball
October 15, 2019 the Lady Pirates took on the Great Hearts Monte Vista Lions. The Jv lost in 2 sets, but top performers in that game. Were Kortney Carmouche, Sadie Duran, and Karina Longoria. The varsity won in 3 straight sets. The Lady Pirates boasted a great serving and serve reception game. Detersively they shut down the Lions as well. Lexi Mills had 7 kills, 14 assists, 2 aces, and 7 digs. Iris Lozano had 5 kills and key defensive locks to gain momentum in the catch. Kammi Skeen also had 5 kills. Kiersten Adams and kaylee Blackledge rounded out the offense with 4 and 2 kills respectively. The Lady Pirates will play Harper today October 18th at 4 pm.
HS Football
October 11,2019
Last Friday night your Center Point Pirates pillaged the Harper Longhorns to open district play. The Pirates won in convincing fashion 42-14.
The offense steamrolled the horns to grind out 436 yards rushing. Cody Daily had 232 yds and 3 touchdowns. Kolton Kitchens added 2 tds and 79 yds rushing. Alex Valadez had 97 yds on the ground. Alvaro Bustamante added the last Td. The offensive line did an outstanding job! Bryan Arreola, Nick Moehle, Cade Crawley, Fernando Fuentes, and Joseph Carmouche are to be commended.
Defensively, the Pirates were led by Trenton Cabaniss, Valadez, Micheal Haese, Tyven Grey, and Jake Laque who kept the Longhorns corralled all night. Bustamante added an interception to his dossier to bring his season total to 2. Other defensive notables were Kolby Vincent, Sammy Bustamante, Moehle, Haiden Hass,Leo Martinez, and Christian Martinez.
The boys stand 1-0 in district play and travel to Brackett this Friday.
It's a great day to be a Pirate!
Middle School Football
Your Center Point Middle School Pirates had a strong showing in Ingram. The White team competed in a three team contest with Bandera and Ingram. The Pirates scored twice against Bandera on runs by Mauricio Gallegos and Jose Gallegos. The Center Point defense shutout Bandera and allowed just one score to Ingram. Jesse Segura and Isaac Cervantes provided the big plays defensively..
The Black team hammered Ingram 34-0. It was an all-around great team effort. The Pirate defense, led by Rene Rodriguez, Jaron Cooper, and Ely Marrs, limited their opponents to just one first down and less than 60 total yards. On offense, Houston Willrich, Ashton Kettinger, Clayton Thomas, and Jude Hueber all had rushing touchdowns. Big play of the night was a long pass play from Hueber to Jeremyah Vela to pick up a first down. The other two TDs came on special teams as Thomas scored on a kick return and punt return. Great job by all the Pirates!!
October 10, 2019
Your Center Point Middle School Pirates fought their way to two victories in Harper. The White team won 16-6, then the Black team blanked the Horns, 16-0. Quarterback Jose Gallegos led the White team by scoring both touchdowns. Mauricio Gallegos also contributed on offense, with a two-point reception and multiple long runs. Up front, Max Mann, Marco Mendoza, and company provided the backs with room to run. Isaac Cervantes and Casey Vincent made big plays defensively. Vincent's coming on an interception to halt a drive in the second half.
The Black team recorded its third shutout in four games. Javy Arreola and Clayton Thomas made big hits from their secondary positions. Jaron Cooper forced a fumble that Joel Lozano recovered for a key second half turnover.
The Pirate touchdowns came from Thomas and Houston Willrich. A long run by Jude Hueber set up the team's first score and the offensive line worked hard up front to lead the way.
Great job by the Pirates to start district play with two wins!
