Summer School - Private Band Lessons Available!
We are now offering summer school band & orchestra lessons (orchestra started this summer 2022 with great results). Here are some key details about the summer lessons program:
Sign up for summer lessons here!
*If a student would like to sign up for both band and orchestra lessons, please fill out both forms.
*PERCUSSION - Cindy Terhune will be teaching percussion lessons in this program on Tuesday mornings. If that fits your schedule, it is HIGHLY recommended. She is the teacher that started all percussionists in 6th grade. (full disclosure - she's also my wife. I may be biased - but kids always learn a ton).
Other Info:
The lessons are taking place during Sun Prairie's five-week summer school at Patrick Marsh Middle School (June 19-July 20), but you do not need to be registered in summer school to have lessons. Students will have one 30 minute lesson per week.
To sign up for summer lessons, you will use the Google form at the bottom of this letter . Lessons are NOT part of the official district summer school registration, so you will not see a lesson sign-up in the district catalog.
If you are attending summer school, your lesson will be scheduled during the school day. You will be excused from one of your classes for part of the period to attend a lesson. You will have one lesson per week.
If you are not attending summer school, your 30-minute lesson will be scheduled for a time between 8:00 and 1:00 (Monday through Thursday). The sign-up form allows you to specify what days and times work best for you. You must provide your own transportation to school for the lesson.
The lesson sign-up form will be available until May 29. After May 29, the music teachers will create the lesson schedule. We will contact you by June 9 to let you know the day and time of your lesson.
We can't wait to see you for lessons! If you have any questions before filling out the sign-up form, please feel free to contact one of the summer school music coordinators.
