Columbia High School
Columbia High School Biology teachers recently held an EOC-based hands-on competition between all of our Biology classes on April 20th in the multipurpose room and guess what, it was also featured in the Lake City Reporter!!
Activities included both physical and mental challenges for small groups and whole classes. At the end of each period, a winner was announced and awarded breakfast/lunch during their next class.
We must give credit to our awesome Biology teachers:
Mrs. Carlisle, Mrs. Williamson, Mrs. Shidner and Mr. Shidner
These teachers not only facilitated the Biology Wars, but they have also dedicated themselves to Super Saturday Biology Reviews, the final session is April 29th!!
We are extremely fortunate to have such a committed group of educators here at Columbia High School! #ColumbiaStrong
Mr. Archie Coop and his family, donated to the Kids Feeding Kids Project, a home Verti-Gro 8 tower system. This system will be set up on the CHS campus, in the area of Mr. Benkozy and Mr. Cole's classroom, for the IDD students and the Agriscience students to be able to learn how hydroponics work and to produce food. This will be done in August 2017.
Mr. Cole's classes built a "palate fence" around the CHS Learning To Do Land Lab garden area.
Their next project before the end of this school term is to build a chicken coop out of palates.

Five Points Elementary
When you need room to make a human clock, you go out on the front lawn!
Mrs. Womble's first graders were learning about hour hand, minute hand and quart hour in an exciting and engaging activity last week.
Students were give a digital time and asked to become the hands of the clock to model it on the human clock. The students also received small individual clocks to show their own work.
I am very thankful to have creative teachers on the Five Points campus!!!
