The Giver Summary
The Giver is a book where a kid named Jonas has been chosen to be the next receiver. He lives in a community that gives the illusion that everything is good and nothing is bad , when it isn't. Jonas receives the memories from the past , good and bad , from current receiver, a wise old man who tells Jonas to call him the giver . Jonas begins to understand this and believes there is a another way . A "community" were you can make your own decisions . He then goes through an adventure to get there , with the help of the feelings and memories the Giver gave to him.
Jonas
Jonas is a 12 year old (in the book) who has been chosen to be the next receiver of memories . One of the challenges that he faces is that he learns secret information about his society, and that he realizes that his people are doing terrible things in order to keep everyone comfortable. He is also faced with the problem of not being able to tell anybody anything which makes him feel like he does not fit in.
Giver
The Giver is the current Receiver of Memory and trains Jonas to become the next Receiver. He carries the memories of the world, he suffers from the pain contained within the memories. He is lonely because he can't share his work with other people which drives him crazy and he does not agree with the idea of sameness.
Asher
Jonas' best friend,Asher is a cheerful, friendly boy who makes a game out of everything. At the Ceremony of Twelve, he is assigned to be Assistant Director of Recreation.
Fiona
One of Jonas' good friends. Fiona is a very pretty girl who is sensitive, intelligent, quiet, and polite. She is assigned to be a Caretaker of the Old and has a very close relationship with Jonas.

LIKED
Overall i liked the story because it left me hanging a lot and wanting to read more. The only thing i did not really like is the ending i would have change it to him, Fiona , Asher, Gabriel and the Giver to leave
