This week in Literacy!
This week we will review our comprehension strategies and other concepts in order to prepare for the Writing Exam on Thursday, May 26th and Final Exam on Friday, May 27th. During this time, teachers will be assessing students final reading level for Third Grade. Also, each student will be writing a "How to Survive Third Grade" book.
*RAZ-KIDS!
Please make sure your child is reading each night, listening to the stories, and taking the quizzes. Reading for 20 minutes each night is one of the best ways for your child to become a better reader. Third Grade is tracking the number of books read in order for the class to earn incentives, such as a popcorn party! Thank you for your help with this!
This week in Science!
Our final science unit of the year will be Habitats an Environment. This week students will explore the essential question, "How can we stop or slow down damage to the environment?" Students will read and about an environmental issue affecting humans, plants, and/or animals, generate an idea to slow or stop the effects of the environmental issue and write an organized paragraph to describe the problem and their solution idea.
