ROOTED IN RESPECT

Better Together

Families,

As promised, I'm sharing the "Rooted in Respect" video that features our wonderful Wiggin Street staff and students and was created by Ms. Waugh! The students showed great respect this week including our 1st and 2nd grade students that traveled to the Memorial Theater to see Frozen Jr. They had a great time evidenced by the video below with audio from the sing along during the show.

Lastly, we rounded out our Summer Reading celebration with a pizza party given by the district for all those that participated. Students also received their Spi Spot passes and Round Hill Dairy certificates for those that earned them.

Have a great weekend!

Warmly,

Christy

Big picture

Thrive Kids Update

Exercise not only helps physical fitness but it also prepares the brain to learn and retain information! Dr. John J. Ratey from Harvard Medical School states that exercise, "...optimizes your mind-set to improve alertness, attention, and motivation {and} it prepares and encourages nerve cells to bind to one another.” At Thrive Kids we are working to help kids become better learners by moving their bodies and learning the power of doing hard things! This past week we determined our baseline level for the broad jump and we will continue to work on improving this skill in an effort to see each child make progress!

Weekly Before School Movement Activity:

25 jumping jacks

25 high knees

25 star jumps

Say “I can do hard things!”

See you next Thursday, 9/ at 8:15am!
