CPSSA Swimming Carnival
The CPSSA A Division Swimming Carnival was held at HBF Stadium on May 5. The Holy Rosary Interschool Swimming Squad had been training hard for the event and included students from Years 4-6 inclusive.
All of our competitors tried very hard giving 110% and supported each other well through the day. There were some fantastic individual and team performances which lead to a great overall result.
The overall winners were Our Lady of Grace with 1154 points; however, Holy Rosary came 2nd in the boys shield and 5th in the girls and overall shields with a grand total of 982 points which was a fantastic performance.
I would like to thank the parents and student teachers that helped out on the day and Mr Geordie Thuijs who was a great help with the squad. I would also like to thank Mr Mat Lovelock from Barracudas Swim Club who provided 7 training sessions to the squad. Mat is a fantastic coach and we were all very appreciative of his expertise and coaching and hope to work with him next year.
If you would like to improve your child’s swimming over the coming year please feel free to contact Mat on the email highlighted below

Dave Edwards, our Year 4D Teacher is doing the HBF Run for a Reason for a friend’s daughter from his cricket team. Have a read and support this cause if you can.
This is Isobel Parsons and she loves the beach. Isobel is the daughter of one of my cricket team mates. She is a beautiful little girl living with a disability called Lissencephaly, which literally means "smooth brain". It is a rare, gene-linked brain malformation. As Isobel grows it is becoming increasingly difficult for her family to access the beautiful beaches in Perth. We are hoping to raise funds to help purchase her a specialised beach wheelchair. Isobel's parents, Robin and Corrina, would also love to share this amazing device with other children with special needs in the community. Please help us to support Isobel in the HBF Run for a Reason.
