- Congratulated Employees of the Month
- Congratulated Students of the Month
- Congratulated all the nominees and awardees for Employees of the Year. President Galvan was in attendance at the event hosted by the Monterey County Office of Education where our employees were recognized. (See Video above).
- Recognized and the Rotary Top 40 Soledad High Schools Scholars at Soledad High School on May 5th. Board Members helped in recognizing our Top Academic nd community Service achievements!
- On May 10th Board members participating the Girls' Health in Girls' Hands Empowered Leaders Awards Ceremony.
- Kudos to FFA students who are currently at the Salinas Valley Fair in King City showing their animals and hopefully selling them!
- Recognized our Athletic Teams, specifically the Swim Team for obtaining the Cypress Division Title and our Baseball Team who made the playoffs!
- Commended and recognized the Soledad Youth Council for all their work and partnerships in our community.
- Soledad students who participated in the South County Strings Program on May 8th at the Sunset Center in Carmel. Board member Ocampo was able to join and enjoyed the concert.
- May celebrations: Day of the Teacher, Classified School Employee Week, National Mental Health Month, and National School Nurse Day.
- Congratulated all Mothers on Mothers Day!
- Participation in the LCAP Advisory Community Meeting and look forward to the analysis of the survey that was sent out to parents.
- Participation in the Tile IX training
- Survey administered to Soledad HS students on financial literacy and over 80% of the students indicated their interest in having a course offered.
- The Monterey Food Bank was selected by the Monterey County School Boards Association as the recipient of the Excellence in Education Award
- Jocelyn Mexicano from Soledad High School was the recipient of the ACSA Region 10 - Every Student Succeeding Award. Board members were able to attend and support Jocelyn.
- Dr. Deneen Guss presented Rudy Canchola with an award. Rudy was not able to make it to the recognition event and Dr. Guss graciously made time to come and present it to him, herself. Board President Galvan and VP Ibarra Mora were there to support Rudy

Mr. Bangs reported on the following:
ACSA Region 10 Spring Fling - Jocelyn Mexicano from Soledad High School received the Every Student Succeeding Award
New parent newsletter and monthly video was share recently with parents as part of the communications goal of the district.
Soledad High School received a 6-year WASC accreditation . Thank you to the SHS team and congratulations!
Aztec Concert Band took 2nd place at the April 30 Santa Cruz Boardwalk Festival with a rating of Excellent
