Celebrating Learning and Secondary Science Newsletter
Secondary Science Team
Princeton Public Schools is a community of six (6) schools committed to the principles and ideals of wonder and innovation. The secondary science team is made up of more than thirty (30) educators who serve students at Princeton Middle School and Princeton High School. This newsletter will spotlight some of the amazing projects and learning opportunities we use to engage students and families in the work of lifelong exploration and inquiry.

If the physical sciences are more your thing, here is a bracket worth filling out! What is the best element on the periodic table? Started several years ago online, take your shot with classmates, family or friends.
Sources of our strength
We work together with partners to support student learning. We are excited about partnerships with the Princeton School Garden Cooperative, Send Hunger Packing Princeton, the municipality and other friends working to help us provide various opportunities for students and families to develop their science citizenship skills.
Chefs in the PMS Cooks & Gardens Club
On Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, we welcome Chef E, Ms. Gaudino, Ms. Valenza, and our new Food Systems Literacy Coordinator, Mrs. MacQueen. Ms. Gries (Garden Educator and Steward) and Mrs. Cook are usually there too!

Parent testimonial
[To Mrs. Custer] "Thank you very much for including us on what is happening in your classroom. As a parent of a senior, I don’t always know what is going on at school and often left in the dark. I appreciate your updates."

Forensics is a class for the curious. "By illustration, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS 2022) shows that between 2021 and 2031, careers in forensic science tech are projected to grow 11 percent; private investigation and detective work, 6 percent; and information security, an astonishing 35 percent nationally." Princeton University Splash
What is Splash?
Splash is a one-day event where local high school students join us on Princeton’s campus to take classes taught by Princeton students, on anything and everything (think Intro to Beatboxing or Chemistry of Chocolate). In past years, we’ve welcomed more than 250 students and 50 teachers to our annual learning extravaganza. Check out our team here!
