5th Grade Pickleball
If your 5th grader is interested in joining Pickleball Club please submit this form. Pickleball Club will begin Friday, September 9th. We will meet Friday mornings, at 8 am, in the North Gym (please enter through the main entrance). No prior experience or equipment is necessary; I will provide everything needed to play.
If we have an abundance of interested 5th-grade students I will use a lottery system to determine membership. However, based on participation and interest in the club, a second round will be considered and those who are not selected will be given the first opportunity to join next time around.
Please submit the above form provided by Wednesday, September 7th.
Let's play!

Track-a-Thon T-shirt & Size Requests
Planning for our annual track-a-thon school fundraiser, which will be held on Friday, October 14th, is underway! Detailed information will be coming home with your children mid-September.
Each student will receive a complimentary event t-shirt to wear the day of the run. T-shirts are ordered by grade level as follows:
Kindergarten & 1st: Youth Small
2nd & 3rd: Youth Medium
4th & 5th: Youth Large
If you would like an alternate size ordered for your child please complete the google form below by Wednesday, 9/14. Unfortunately, we will not have extras to accommodate size change requests the day of the event, so if an alternate size was not submitted, students will receive the grade level size. If you do not intend to order an alternate size, you do not need to submit this form.
TAT t-shirt order form Please submit separate entries for multiple students.
Thank you from the 2022 Track-a-Thon Committee!
SAFETY WEEK
Tuesday, Sept 6th - Shelter in Place (Tornado)
Wednesday, Sept 7th -
Thursday, Sept 8th - Lockdown Drill
Friday, Sept 9th - Bus Evacuation Drill
If you have any questions, please let me know. I do want you to be aware that there will be police at the building during the lockdown drill and the fire department comes minimally comes for our first drill. I didn't want anyone to be worried if they happened to drive by and saw trucks or squad cars at the school. Please see the information below re: Lockdown Drill as that is a new state guideline. Given what we do, my suggestion is to not have your child opt-out, but I completely understand if you do. I think that this was put in place given some of what I consider to be the extreme measures that some schools were taking to simulate "real-life experiences." We don't do that at Carpenter.
LockDown Drill
Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s):
The School Safety Drill Act requires that within the first 90 days of every academic year, we conduct at least one lockdown drill. This drill addresses and evaluates the preparedness of school personnel and students for situations where there is an active threat or an active shooter within a school building.
Please be assured that the lockdown drill does not include any simulations that mimic an actual school shooting incident. The lockdown drill Is announced in advance to all school personnel and students before it begins. Local law enforcement may attend this event to share feedback and guidance with the building administration.
This year’s lockdown drill will take place on Thursday, 9/8. If you do not want your child to participate in the lockdown drill, please complete the google form: Opt-out Request Information by Friday, 9/2. If your child is exempted from the drill, we will provide your child with alternate instructions related to an active threat or active shooter event.
