Principal's Thoughts

Dear Page Hilltop Families:

This past week we had our 2nd highest number of views for the "Paw-sitively News" with 1395! Mr. Lutinski and I enjoy collaborating on this "online newsletter" and we are really happy that so many of our families are viewing it (sometimes more than once in the same week). As we always say, maintaining effective communication between home and school is a great benefit to all of our students.

If there is something else that you would like to see us include in this weekly newsletter, just email us with your thoughts/ideas.

Thanks, as always, for sharing your children with us!

Fred Deppe, Principal

Matt Lutinski, Assistant Principal

1/2 DAY (11/23/22) LUNCH ORDER FORM

On Wednesday, November 23rd we have a half day before the Thanksgiving Break. Students are able to pre-order a school lunch using this GOOGLE FORM. Lunches will be delivered to your student's classroom before dismissal on 11/23/22.

CLASSROOM SHOWCASE

Kindergarten and First Grade: Kindergarten, First grade, and Art made wonderful pictures, cards, and letters for the Veterans that live at the Bedford VA hospital. Mrs. Fitzgerald will be delivering them this week. Mrs. Fitzgerald is so appreciative since at one time her Dad was living there. He was once the receiver of such notes from students. She is happy to be delivering these to other Vets this week.

THEATRE AT THE MOUNT

We were so excited to have the theatre troupe from Theater-at-the-Mount return to Page Hilltop for two live performances of "Heroes & Tall Tales"! These high school drama club members come from various high schools in the region and always put on amazing performances. Due to the pandemic, they have not been able to travel to schools in the past few years so we were grateful to be on their road tour venues this year.

SCHOOL STORE RETURNS

Our very successful school store, known as the Panther Pride Shop, is now opening for another school year. The school store is run by one of our teaching teams, Mrs. Marshall & Mrs. Kudtarkar, with support from various students.

Students may shop at the store during Friday lunch periods (after they have finished eating, of course). All of the items at the store cost no more than a few dollars. Students may also use PAWS slips to redeem for purchases.

We will be sharing out some photos and lists of store items for purchase. Like your retail stores, we also change up the stock for various seasons and holiday times.

LOST & FOUND

We are only a couple of months into the school year and our Lost & Found table is piling up with sweaters, sweatshirts & jackets, as well as gloves, mittens and water bottles. We ask all parents to check your closets at home for missing items of clothing. You can then send a note with your child and we will help them look for their missing items during lunch / recess.

HOLIDAY HELP

Before we know it the holidays will be upon us! With the help of local organizations, we are offering holiday assistance, clothing, toys, and other gifts to support families during this time.

If you would like to apply for holiday assistance, please fill out this Holiday Help Application google form by November 14, 2022.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact our school adjustment counselors, Mrs. Hebenton (PreK-2) thebenton@asrsd.org, or Ms. Cubero (3-5) ecubero@asrsd.org.

VETERANS DAY PROGRAM

Our annual Veterans Day program will be held on Thursday, November 10th, beginning at 9:30. It will be held in the high school auditorium. This is always one of out most special and memorable school community events. We hope that many of our military veterans will be able to attend so that we may honor you.

DONATIONS: If any family would like to make a contribution towards the special brunch we will be hosting for the veterans, we will gratefully accept any amount. Please send your donation, in an envelope, to the office.

DOWNTOWN AYER TURNS ORANGE WITH KINDNESS!

On Sunday, November 13th a section of Main Street in Ayer will take on a new look as it goes "orange" which is the "Global Dance for Kindness" theme color. Shortly before 1:00 pm the road will be closed so that all of our kindness dancers and spectators can take to the street.

We invite all of our families, friends, businesses, and community members to join us for this celebration. What will you see if you come to Main Street on the 13th:

  • Lots of festive orange decorations will be hung up that morning by some of our high school students.
  • Local WXLO morning DJ, Jen Carter, will be there to celebrate with us and pass out prizes.
  • The ASRHS Junior Class will be holding a bake sale
  • Our local Girl Scout / Brownie troop members will be passing our "Kindness Cards" and will also be encouraging everyone to sign a "pledge for kindness" banner.
  • There will be music, dancing, and fun!
  • Lots of wonderful photo ops
  • Smiles and acts of Kindness will be shared with all
  • We hope you will join us for this memorable community event!
