Parent Education - "Explore Our World" and Staying the Course
Most Montessori parents are in awe with the progress their child is making in all areas as a result of his/her participation in the Montessori program. Parents routinely witness and report marked progress in their child’s development in areas as far-ranging as independence; social cognition; critical thinking; ability to focus, attend, and self-regulate; and in all academic domains as a result of their Montessori experience.
We have reached that time of year when parents must ask themselves important questions regarding the future of their child’s education. What is the longer term value of my investment in my child’s Montessori education? Are there particular long term outcomes of Montessori education, and if so, what are they? Is there a distinct advantage to my child experiencing the continuity of the Montessori curriculum over time? How, in fact, does the Montessori curriculum, which builds from one skill and concept to another, offer unique possibilities and outcomes to students who “stay the course” as opposed to the benefits experienced by those who make an early exit from the program?
Pebblecreek will be hosting a program specifically geared at answering these questions, satisfying the doubts and more. Please join us on Thursday, January 22, 2015 for “Stay the Course” to hear the Pebblecreek alumni walk us through their personal journey from Montessori and beyond. Engage these young scholars in candid discussions about what the Montessori experience has given them. This year, we have also added a parent panel so your peers can give you their unique perspective of why they chose to stay and what they get as a return on their investment.
Feel free to extend this invitation to parents outside the PCM community.
I hope to see you there!
