Park Terrace Elementary
May 4, 2022 Newsletter
Greetings Park Terrace Elementary!
Happy May 4th and May the Fourth Be with You!
Many of our students and staff will be celebrating their love of Star Wars today. As they do, we will be celebrating our staff, because it is also Staff Appreciation Week when we take the opportunity to celebrate our staff here at Park Terrace and all the incredible work they do for our students and community!
We have a truly tremendous staff who work hard with care and compassion each day to truly know each student and create the conditions for each of them to learn. It is a pleasure to take time to recognize and appreciate them for everything they do. If you’d like to join us, consider sending a note. Words of appreciation go a long way. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!
This week, we had our first girls soccer club practice. It was so nice to see many of our students having fun and working hard at a sport they love! Tomorrow, our kindergarten students will be going on a field trip to the Minnesota Children’s Museum where they will no doubt have an awesome time learning while playing.
A few reminders for families:
- Drop off and pick up: If you drop off or pick up students each day, please ensure that the crosswalks are clear so that families with students in wheelchairs have a clear path from the parking lot to the school. Thank you for your help in this!
- Health screening: We ask that families please continue to complete a health screening each day and keep your student home if any symptoms are present. We have been seeing a bit of an increase in COVID-19 illness and related absences in recent days. We are monitoring and continue to publish the numbers each week on the COVID-19 hub.
I hope everyone has a great rest of the week! Let’s work hard while we enjoy all the amazing opportunities spring has to offer!
Sincerely,
Mona Perkins
