SWEF Quarterly
Southwest Education Foundation Newsletter: Volume 2
June 30, 2023
Welcome to SWEF Quarterly, our quarterly Education Foundation e-newsletter featuring the latest foundation news, events, and information.
The Southwest ISD Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) entity created to support the faculty, employees, and students of the Southwest Independent School District. The Foundation is governed by a diverse and committed Board of Directors who hail from the greater San Antonio area, many of whom have long-standing and strong ties to the Southwest ISD community. The Foundation is also aided by a non-governing Board of Advisors who are all proven leaders and champions of youth and education.
Our Impact
SWEF participated in four fundraisers during the Spring semester. We raised a total of $53,775. Thank you to all of our sponsors and community members who donated to help make this possible. All proceeds will go to our 2023-2024 teacher grants. Below is the breakdown from each event.
Kendra Scott Fundraiser
We were able to raise $775. Twenty percent of all items sold with the mention of SWEF, were given back to our foundation. The fundraiser was active both in-store and online. We will be hosting another fundraiser in the fall. You can shop online or in -store. We will release the discount code, closer to the event.
Casino Night
Our 2023 casino night sold out. It was a successful event with sponsors, SWISD staff, and community members were in attendance. Collectively between ticket sales, sponsorships, raffle and auction items, we raised $52,500.
Night in Old Southwest
During the 1st annual Night in Old Southwest (NIOSW), SWEF members participated in a 'pie-in-the face' booth. Attendees donated to put a pie in the face to a few of our board members. Thank you to David Ellis and Brandon Medina for participating in the booth to help us raise $500.
