FPS Text Message Test @ 4:30pm Tuesday
As we shared last week, this coming Tuesday sometime around 4:30pm or shortly after, we will send a test text message to our parents and guardians so we can begin using the text message feature of our messaging system. This will only be used for time sensitive situations (school is called off, an alert related to a bus incident, a building situation to keep families informed about, upcoming event details, etc). Parents and guardians will receive a message from this service that explains steps to take should you choose to opt out. Since this is our first time using this feature, we anticipate that some parents or guardians may not receive the message for various reasons so we will follow up with a phone call and email with next steps to follow if you do not receive the message. That phone call and email will come to parents and guardians around 5:30pm on Tuesday. Thank you for your patience as we work through adding this new feature.
Note for staff: We are still working to add staff contact information for this feature.
Covid-19 Updates
CASES ON THE UPTICK: We have been experiencing more positive COVID-19 cases this week amongst students and staff across the district. This is consistent with what is being seen in and around the community. We ask families to please be diligent in keeping your children home when they are experiencing symptoms or are sick. Please continue to report any symptoms or sickness through the online absence reporting form process.
TESTING CHANGES: Walk-in on-site testing through FPS is no longer available for students and their family members. Students and their family members who are at home and need access to testing are recommended to visit a community testing site. For more information, please visit the Summit Clinical Labs website or the DHS Community Testing page here. Students who are present at school and in need of access to testing can be tested in their building through the ongoing partnership between FPS and Summit Clinical Labs. For more information about testing, click here.
As shared in this update from the March 11th Newsletter, we will resume publishing dashboard updates if the Milwaukee County rating moves to high.

To access our Saber Center Feedback Survey, you can click/tap the associated QR code, scan the code with your mobile device or go to tinyurl.com/scfdbk in your browser. If you know community members that are not parents in the school district (and do not directly receive our newsletters), please pass them the survey so they can offer feedback too! The survey will also be included in our OPENING DOORS insert in the City Newsletter that goes out to all city mailboxes around May 20th. The survey will close at the end of May. Parent Drop off & Pick Up Reminders
Earlier this year, we shared videos for morning drop-off and pick-up procedures. For drop off and pick up please continue to use the loop through our overflow parking lot. When there is snow, the cones that mark the loop are removed. Please continue to form the loop even when the cones are not present. Continuing to have the extra loop through the parking lot helps us move traffic off of Forest Hill Avenue.
For morning drop-off, please remember to allow the outside lane to be clear of standing traffic so that teachers can use the outside lane to access the staff parking lot. For additional information about our procedures please see the following video.
Thank you for all of your help to make our morning and afternoon traffic as smooth as possible!
Did Your Student Lose Their Student ID?
REGISTRATION FOR 22-23 IS NOW OPEN FOR NEW FAMILIES!
Our registration is now open for next school year for new families to the district and next year’s 4K. You can find all the necessary details on our website here. Please note that students already enrolled in our schools do not have to have a new registration completed. You may utilize the “Create Account” and “Forgot Password” buttons on the registration page to complete your registration or gain access if you have created an account in the past. Please help us share that registration is open with any new families to the area or those with younger children that would be entering 4K or 5K!
Absence Notification Procedures
Like last year, we will be asking parents/guardians to use THIS FORM to report student absences. The attendance form is also located as a button on the main school webpage and under the “Parents Information” section.
This form will require you to enter your child’s six-digit student ID number and birthdate before you can report your child absent. Student specific medical information collected by the form will remain confidential and only be shared within the health and nursing services team.
Early Dismissals & Late Arrivals
If you come to pick up your student during the school day, we ask that you do not enter our building but instead pull up into the circle driveway outside of our main office. Your student will be watching for you and we will send them out to your car when they see that you have arrived. If you are waiting longer than a few minutes for your student, you may call our main office to check in (414-529-8250).
If you are dropping your student off late for any reason, you do not need to come into the school with your student. Please pull into our circle driveway outside of the main office where your student can enter and check in. We will give your student a pass to class and update their attendance at that time.
Please remember to use THIS FORM for ANY attendance related notification including students leaving early, arriving late or full day absences. Please do not send notes with your student to notify us of these changes.
Dropping something off for your student?
In an effort to reduce the amount of interruptions to students and teachers in the classroom, most items will be delivered to students during their 3rd hour class unless the item is clearly needed right away (for example, the student's Chromebook). If an item is dropped off after 3rd hour, we will get the item to the student as soon as possible.
Franklin Public Schools is Hiring!
We are hiring for Food Service Workers ($15/hour starting wage, part-time) and Bus Drivers ($21/hour starting wage, other bonuses, paid training through First Student in Muskego).
