ERMS Counselor Corner
Resource Guide for Parents
Welcome Back to School!!
We hope you and your student are off to a great start of the school year! October is Anti-Bullying month. The counseling office will have some lessons prepared and ready to go for our students this month, so be looking for those! Check these out in the mean time. https://www.pacer.org/bullying/resources/parents/definition-impact-roles.asp
Ele's Group Opportunity for Students
ERMS will be partnering with Ele’s Place, a healing center for grieving children and teens, to bring students an 8-week grief support group. This group will be offered during the school day, once a week for 8 weeks, and will be conducted VIRTUALLY through zoom. The group is designed to help students who have experienced the death of someone significant to them. In Ele’s Group, there will be the opportunity to do activities, talk about grief experiences; learn ways to cope and to be with others who understand what it’s like to have someone die. This group is not therapy or counseling, it is a way to connect with other students who are grieving and support each other. Groups will be facilitated by an Ele’s Place staff member, and Mrs. Stoel, one of the school counselors. If you have additional questions, please talk with Mrs. Stoel. Parent Permission is required to participate. Please see the attached parent letter below and complete the permission slip using the link in the letter.
Food Pick Up
Did you know any student can still receive free breakfast and lunch?! Pick up times are every Tuesday from 10am-12pm and from 5-6pm at the GIS parking lot.
NWEA Testing is Complete!
Thank you to all the parents who helped make sure their student logged in successfully and tested! YOU ROCK! We couldn't have done this without you!
