On the Trail - Mustang Families
Nov 29 - Dec 3
Only 3 more weeks!
I hope you all had a wonderful, restful and rejuvenating break and Thanksgiving with love, peace and happiness.
Let's give it our all as we hit the home stretch for term 2.
Be on time to classes, be an active participant in class and do your work with integrity, attend tutoring in ASSETs, communicate well with your teachers and have great time management to help you accomplish your goals.
You can do it!
Have a great week!
Go Mustangs!

Monterey Trail Regional Equity Coalition meeting Dec. 9th
This is the second year for our MTREC that includes 9 schools in our MT region and a wonderful partnership with Innovation Bridge. We are excited to continue this work and know that we have work to do but that we can do this work in partnership with you, all stakeholders.
We invite all families and stakeholders to join us and elevate voices and give input/feedback towards this work in the region.
In addition, we are looking for African-American/Black students who wish to share their voices about their experiences from all levels - Secondary (HS/MS and Elementary students). If you are a student who is interested, please email lricks@egusd.net for more information.
Visit our site MTHS REC HUB in the link below for more information about our work.
Important Items for Mustang Success
Conflict Mediation - refer someone else or self refer
Struggling students? Reporting incidents or concerns
- connect with the family and document interventions in synergy
- submit an MTSS form for students of concern
- refer students in "drama" or in "need" to conflict mediation
- seek help by connecting with counselors or admin as needed
Students can self refer to conflict mediation as well. See the form above for referrals.
Remind students of our Anonymous Incident Reporting system on our website. It allows for anonymous reporting of bullying, self harm, violence, harassment and more. If the person allows us, we can also communicate two way to get additional details while they still remain anonymous if they choose.

If you see something, say something
There have been small groups of students doing damage not only to our campus but to businesses as well. In addition, a few have unfortunately been misrepresenting while interacting with adults in the community, too. Then, we add the damage and problems associated with the Tik Tok challenges and the poor behaviors on InstaGram to the problem. This is not how any of us want our school represented and it paints such a bad picture when this is such a great place to be.
Yet, we know there are so many more students, several thousands at MT, who are doing the right thing and representing MTHS in an awesome light! We are so proud of you and thank you for having Integrity, Respect and Confidence building up the Community!
So to help us continue this, please remember to tell an adult if you see something so that we can help everyone on our campus and off campus as well. And, keep doing what is right Mustangs and treat others how you would expect to be treated. You Matter and All of our Mustangs and Community Matter. Let's show the world how great it is to be a Mustang!
WELLNESS and Self-Care and Support
We want everyone to be well so here are some reminders of resources available in the picture below. We also have our own Employee Assistance Program: 1 (800) 646-9923.

COVID
Daily to protocols:
- Wear Masks indoors - mandatory regardless of vaccination status
- Hand wash and sanitize often - entrance/exit of rooms
- Have up to date daily seating charts/group charts, and accurate attendance records - this matters so much
- Do not come to school if you have symptoms - staff contact admin and students/families contact the school for admin to then follow protocols directed by nurses in contact with the county and health authorities
- Recommended wear masks in large groups outdoors - our lunch and passing periods for example
- Help remind students of the protocols as you pass by and in your classrooms/offices, etc.
