Spring 2015

Time Flies When You're Having Fun

We have had quite the Spring! From our wonderful Open House featuring "Scrap Exchange," to special Easter celebrations, to watching caterpillars turn into butterflies before our eyes, visiting the Museum of Life and Science, and riding in the Trike-a-thon, God has definitely blessed our springtime endeavors at Precious Lambs. But the time sure has gone quickly! I can hardly believe that Graduation and summer are right around the corner. I hope that this newsletter can capture some of the joy we have experienced at school and share it with you. I also hope you can join us for some of our upcoming special events. May our risen, awesome Savior be with you and your family this month!

A Word from our Teachers

PreK3 Yellow Lambs "One of our recent studies has been about wheels and their characteristics. After learning about the function of a wheel, the children were able to point out objects in the classroom that worked similarly such as a cylindrical block or even a paper towel tube. It's truly fascinating to see the way their minds work after only a short explanation!" - Ms. Devan

PreK4 Blue Lambs "Our class had such a good time working on our recycling unit. The numerous recyclables you [parents] sent in gave the children wonderful opportunities to use their imaginations on their creative endeavors. Thank you so much for your part in this.

"In studying wheels, one day we went on a "wheel walk" to look for different types of wheels. When one of the children saw Ms. Julianna's desk chair, she said "Oh, there is Ms. Julianna's wheel chair." :) Some of the other wheels we explored were pulleys and rolling pins. We discussed the wheel and axle of the rolling pin and used it to make cookies that looked like wheels." - Ms. Royann

PreK4 Green Lambs "Here at Precious Lambs, we have those 'out of the mouths of babes...' moments on a daily basis! One in particular stood out for me during our study of wheels. While on a "wheel walk" looking for wheels around the church property, we came to a standstill as we waited for a a driver in the parking lot to leave. We talked about staying safely away while that car and its wheels drove away. It was then that a student remarked, "yeah, cause if it hit us, we'd be dead!" To which another student replied, "but that would be ok, cause we'd go to heaven!" Not only was it wonderful to hear that precious little lamb speaking his faith, it was a good reminder to me of the great joy, privilege and blessing it is to "train up a child in the way he should go." (Proverbs 22:6.)

By the way, our little lambs made tally marks on paper for every wheel they saw. Together we counted 93 wheels that day!" - Ms. Cindy
