Learning Letter
C&I Updates, Events, and Reflections - November 2018
C&I Department Headlines - Volume 2
- In an effort to be sure all teachers have the information they need to successfully prepare students for the format of the state assessment, this STAAR 101 Smore has been designed to highlight some key information.
- If you have not yet discovered the beauty found in the curriculum calendars within our curriculum, you must check them out! These were created to synthesize as much information as possible for teachers to see things at a glance! From the curriculum website, click on your grade level (elementary) or subject area (secondary). The link to the curriculum calendars can be found at the top of each curriculum document.
- So many opportunities, so little time! This time of year, calendars fill up, priorities compete, and it may seem hard to juggle which expectations are most important. Teacher input is very important in developing curriculum, building learning leader networks, technology leadership, and selecting new instructional materials, but if you are invited to participate in one too many committees/groups, feel free to connect with the leader to discuss your concern and devise a plan that works best for you.
- If you missed the first Learning Letter (sent in September), you missed information on the new GCISD Curriculum Website, the GCISD Instructional Support, the updated Common Instructional Expectations, and the @GCISDLearns Twitter handle. Check them out or see that newsletter here.
