Final Exams and Grades

Click here to access the final exam schedule. Please note the final exam policies on the 2nd page. Submission of Grades Deadlines: Instructors should electronically submit grades as each course is completed. Graduating students’ grades are due absolutely no later than 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 16. All other grades must be submitted by Saturday, December 19 at 10:00 a.m. Course evaluations are not released to instructors until all grades are posted.

The December Commencement ceremony will be held on Friday, December 18, 2015 on the Hickory campus. Part time/Adjunct faculty are welcome to march in the processional in regalia if they have such. Please let Jean Beaver in the Office of Academic Affairs know if you wish to participate so she can reserve a seat for you. The ceremony will begin promptly at 7:00 pm in PE Monroe Auditorium and participants assemble in the Mauney Music Building about 6:30 p.m.

Annual Christmas Luncheon Invitation

The annual Christmas Luncheon for all LR Staff, Faculty and Retirees with spouse or guest is Friday, December 18, 2015 at 11:30 AM in the Cromer Center and is hosted by Institutional Advancemen; RSVP with names for nametags by either replying to linda.suggs@lr.edu, (828) 328-7108.

Focus Groups - January 7th & 8th- QEP (Quality Enhancement Plan)

LRU wants your input! All stakeholders at the university are invited to provide ideas for the next Quality Enhancement Plan or QEP. An evening focus group facilitated by the QEP committee has been scheduled for part-time/adjunct faculty who wish to discuss and provide ideas for the next plan on January 7th from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in Rhyne 116. Also sessions during the day for all faculty are scheduled by College on January 8th as well if you prefer a day session. Check with your program's College Dean or School Chair if you wish to attend a day session to confirm the place/time.

A QEP is a carefully designed and focused course of action taken by colleges and universities that addresses a well-defined topic(s) or issue(s) relating to enhancing student learning as part of the accreditation process. The current plan addressed Inquiry Guided Learning (IGL).

Community Service Awards - Nominations Open until January 8

The Office of Student Life is now accepting nominations for several of the Community Service Awards based on the past year (2015). These Community Service awards recognize the L-R community members or organizations who have rendered significant philanthropic or volunteer service to their communities and whose lives and actions are exemplary to the L-R Community as it educates students for leadership and service.

We encourage your attendance and support at all athletic events. The schedules for the events can be found under Athletics on the LR website.

For Faculty and Staff, as was the case for the football games, you are allowed to enter the game free with your current LR Badge. You will be able to bring one guest with you. Please check in at the “Will Call Table” when you arrive.

If you have not ordered textbooks or other materials for spring 2016, contact the LRU Bookstore immediately so they can make the arrangements.

If you are considering creating a custom course pack please contact Leslie, or Lucy. They can assist you in securing copyright approvals, quote gathering, etc. Once a decision is made we will work directly with the print shop on copies, delivery and resale.


Federal legislation that went into effect July 1, 2010 requires textbook listings be readily available, complete with ISBN information for every offered course each semester. The Lenoir-Rhyne Bookstore maintains this official listing for your courses.
