DON'T CONNECT NPS DEVICES TO THE NPS-GUEST WIFI

For years we had told students to switch between wifi networks to find the best connection. However, now we just need students to stay on NPS wifi only while at school. If your device has discovered the NPS guest network or you have any of the issues listed above please bring your Macbook to the tech desk in the library.

MACBOOK TECH TIDBIT OF THE WEEK
System Management Controller Reset
This can be used to fix a piece of hardware that may be malfunctioning in a Macbook. So, if you have a constantly running fan, battery issues, frozen device, etc. this would be the solution to try.
How do you SMC reset???
Step 1:
power off the Macbook and plug it up to a charger
step 2:
hold down shift, control,option, power buttons
step3:
count to 10 seconds (keep an eye on the charger light after you release the buttons to indicate that it worked)
step 4:
turn the Macbook back on

Is your screenshot function not working?
#1- shift+Command+3= full screen capture screenshot
#2- shift+Command+4= crop the area to capture
#3- shift=Command+5= full menu for screen captures/ screen shots
How can you fix it if your screenshots do not work?
1. Click the Apple Logo in the top left and go to System Preferences
2. Click Keyboard
3. Then click on Shortcuts at top of Keyboard window
4. Click Screen Shots and then Restore Defaults
