Cybersecurity...again
Microsoft’s recent announcement blocking macros in files from the internet by default is causing cyber criminals to change their initial access techniques for malware delivery.
They are now using different attachments in their malware campaigns, such as IMG (.img), ISO (.iso), RAR (.rar), and ZIP (.zip) files,.
Be very leery about *any* attachments.
From 2021-2022, there has been a 173% increase in incident response cases. Additionally, there was a 280% increase for malicious attachments holding these files.
Updates & Upgrades
Microsoft released some critical updates last week that have been pushed to your desktop PCs. I sent a reminder on Friday to be sure to update if you see the notice. If you have Windows at home, I *highly* recommend you update as well.
Student Chromebooks have also received a major update as well that will auto-"magically" be applied to their device.
Open Library
You can search millions of books on Open Library, (available through digital lending). All it takes to get a ‘library card’?, aka an email address.
