Two Special Livestream Events in February
A special thank-you to Lisa Sequiera, Tahanto Science Department Chair and Science Coach, for sharing this link with us in recognition of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science on February 11, 2022. This special day, established by the United Nations, recognizes the essential role of women and girls in science and technology. To celebrate, the organization, Conservation in the Classroom is hosting two live stream webinars in February featuring women currently changing the world through science! These live streams can be used by teachers and by families. Additional resources are also provided. Please be sure to register and check out the offerings on behalf of your students and your children! You can find the link here.
More for Young Women Interested in Computer Scienceā¦
The following information came forward from Tannis Wood, who teaches physics, computer science, and Earth & Space science at Tahanto. Thank you, Tannis! Please check out the link here from CODE.ORG and Rewriting the Code to register for upcoming panel discussions. These discussions focus on high school female students interested in pursuing a career in Computer Science. While the first-panel discussion will have been completed prior to the newsletter, there are four more from which to choose!
