Sheep became an important part inthe ranching industry in the 1870's. In south Texas people would buy large lands and aquire large hurds of sheep. There fur was worth money and they made good meat to eat. They also were used for rodios muttin bustin

Muttin bustin is a sport used in the rodios. they but kids on the back of sheep and tell them to hold on for 8 seconds. much like bull riding. its vary fun and entertaining to watch.
