A motherboard links the different components in the computer to allow communication between all of the hardware components. It holds the system memory, expansion slots, networking systems. audio, output systems, input systems and the central processing unit. You find motherboards in many things such as computers, laptops, even phones! Also many other electronics.

Who made the first computer?
The person that made the first computer was called Alan Turing. He was a founder of science, a mathematician, philosopher, code breaker and a gay man. In 1945 he drew up a design for an electronic stored-program, to be called the 'Automatic Computing Engine'. Others who knew about Turing's 1936 research also made the connection between electronics and the stored-program idea.
