THE AMENDMENTS
the amendments and why
HOW DO THE AMENDMENTS PROTECT US?
the amendments protect us by not allowing a majority to establish a rule of law. a amendment is basically a law that is set in stone until a large proportion decides to change it. the constitution is were these amendments are held and they are safe in the white house.
WHAT ARE THE AMENDMENTS?
amendments are changes or additions made to the constitution. amendments are a law made in the government that is hard to change. the first ten amendments are in the bill of rights.
WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO MAKE A AMENDMENT?
A proposed amendment becomes part of the Constitution as soon as it is ratified by three-fourths of the States (38 of 50 States). this process can take a long time. over ten thousand amendments have been proposed but only 27 have been approved.
