Miller Elementary School
Home of the Mustangs - February Newsletter 2023
Letter from the Principal
Dear Miller Families,
Thank you for making January a successful month back. February brings a busy month with Parent-Teacher conferences, Love of Reading Week and Rodeo Break! This time conferences will only be held for some students; it will not be for all students. However, if you would like to request a conference with your child's teacher, please reach out to the teacher to request one.
We will also be hosting Love of Reading Week the week of Feb. 13th - 17th. We will host guests from our community to come in and read with our students and share their love of reading with our students. We will also have a Spirit Week that week - please keep an eye out for the flyer with more information.
We need your help - as we know there are many reasons a student might be out, please continue to ensure you contacting the front office if there is a reason your child is absent or will be absent or tardy. Contact the office 520-908-4200 and let us know when your child is absent. It is very important we want to ensure our students are safe and want everyone to be aware that unexcused absences not only affect school funding but also impede the learning process. Also, if you have a message you need to get to your child, please call the office before 2:00pm. This ensures we are able to deliver the message before the end of the day.
Please remember learning begins at 8:20 am every morning and it is important that students are in line prior to that time. It is very challenging for students who are routinely late to adjust and catch up on their morning routines and missed instruction.
Thank you,
Mrs. Aragon

Students are continuing to develop and grow the executive functioning skills that help students complete daily tasks throughout the quarter. Lessons will include practice with organization, time management, and planning to name a few. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out via email susan.oakley@tusd1.org.

Miller Merit Store - Donations Still Being Accepted!
Some ideas for items to donate - if you are able or willing to donate candy or small toys, we would greatly appreciate it! Pencils, fun erasers, book marks, fidget toys, small toys, crayons, books, coloring books... etc. The kids love it all!
Please bring donations to the front office and let them know it is for the Miller Merit Store!
Traffic Reminders
When in the parking lot, be sure to go slow and pay attention as many families and students walk through the parking lot and surrounding streets to get to and from school each day.
Please be sure to pull all the way forward when dropping off your student, to avoid the line backing up. There is NO PARKING in the driveway area in the morning - as well as on Calle Isabel. Those are No Parking Zones - and you could be ticketed for parking in those areas.
If you are going to park your car, please use the parking lot and a parking space in the mornings and afternoons. Also, please make sure to avoid dropping off students in the bus bay area. Students should be dropped off on Avenida Isabel or through the drop off lane in the parking lot.
Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe!
