The Great Depression
The 1930`s
In 1929 the stock market crashed and the United fell into a depression. The 1930`s are called this because people lost jobs, money, and even their home. Some people had to move across the country just to get a job. Some people left their families for a short period of time just to look for work. Food was scarce. There were so many people going to soup kitchens just to probably get something to snack on. Children had to help do almost everything around the house. Some families took in boarders just to make a little money. The Great Depression ended in 1939.
