After A Book Event

Kedainiai Atzalynas gymnasium

In March,"Atžalynas'' gymnasium students had a unique opportunity to meet with a book about the history of the Holocaust in Lithuania author and journalist Ellen Cassedy (USA). In the book, "We are here", Holocaust Lithuania is presented during the author's family experiences with grief and loss. According E.Cassedy she wrote the book in the belief that it will help strengthen the Lithuanian-Jewish dialogue and mutual understanding between them.
Meetings and discussions were conducted in English.

THANK YOU

Dear Mrs Cassedy,

I‘m very glad I met you in our school. Your presentation was interesting and I would love to read your book‘We are here‘. It was very interesting to learn about the Holocaust, about your family. It is great that you wrote this book in order to believe that it will help strengthen the Lithuanian-Jewish understanding. I think everyone should be strong enough to survive it and write a book. I hope your book will be relevant to every person in the world.

Yours sincerely,

Monika L.

Dear Ellen Cassedy,

I am so happy that I met you. The book event was perfect and your presentation was not only interesting but inspiring too. You were absolutely outstanding. Let this short letter let you feel that you have a fan from across the Atlantic. After the meeting I understood what a great life we have now and I think that it was not so easy to put those stories into the book. Please never forget to be strong and as good as you are now.
God bless you.

Yours sincerely,

Arnis

Dear Ellen Cassedy,

I want to thank you for your wonderful book presentation in our school. I am really impressed by your work, I can imagine how hard it is to write a book about history. Although I haven't read this book yet, but I believe that this book will impress me too, because I am very interested in history.

I wish you good luck in your future, writing and speaking about the Holocaust.
