Who are ISIS?

The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (also called ISIS, ISIL, or Daesh) is a terrorist group that follows an Islamic ultra-fundamentalist ideology and that controls a vast region across Iraq and Syria. ISIS is in many ways the ultimate culmination of problems that have been mounting in the Middle East for years: brutal dictatorship, religious extremism, sectarian hatred, foreign interventions, proxy wars, and a sense of hopelessness and anger among many, many people.

Power vacuum

Power vacuum is an analogy between a physical vacuum, to the political condition "when someone has lost control of something and no one has replaced them." The situation can occur when a government has no identifiable centralpower or authority.

ISIS is gaining a lot of people because of its motive and religion. Most people in ISIS volunteer to do what they do. They want their religion to be the number one religion and they want to expand their territory.

It is estimated that about 200,00 people are the momber of ISIS and this includes both men and women.

Some factor that led to this are: their religious belief, they belive that theor religion shoud be at the top and it should be well respected. They willing to expand their territory by taking away land from other countries.

My Spanish teacher: She thinks that ISIS is causing a big threat not only to the United States of America but to the entire world especially countries in middle east and countries close to middle east. She also thinks that this can not come to stop easily and a lot of think ing and knowledge must be used in order to stop these terriosts. Also, we need to find a way to stop ISIS but at the same time, not hurt the innocent people in Syria when attacking ISIS.

My friend's dad(muslim): He believes that what ISIS are doing os very bad and they are cousing people to think that Islam is a bad religion. Because of ISIS, people fear Muslims while most Muslim are not part of ISIS. They can be stopped coming to an agreement where ISIS agrees to stop what they are ding rather than just bomb them which cause more hatred and have a thought of revenge.

My opinion

I wouldn't send troops on the ground because I think that ISIS will not stop what they are doing just by everyone bombing them and risking the lives of the troops. Rather than doing that, we should see what ISIS are up to and come to an agreement where ISIS will stop doing what they do. Also ISIS will not stop doing what they do because if they stop, they wouldn't earn a lot of money and there is no way they will go back being normal people. There are a lot of ideas about how to stop ISIS, but what method will be the best must be used efficiently by the world and work on stopping ISIS.
