AASA & AzSci Testing & Closed Campus Dates
Each year much time and vigilant planning is done when scheduling the AASA (Arizona’s Academic Standards Assessment) and the AzSCI (5th grade Science test) testing dates within the allotted assessment windows. We work diligently here at Desert Sage to ensure each student is fully prepared to be successful on all assessments. We value as much instructional time prior to testing as is possible. For the testing dates for AASA and AzSCI for each grade level click here.
Testing attendance matters, and we ask for your support. On-time attendance on the dates listed for your child’s grade level is imperative. Children assess with greater focus and less stress when surrounded by the comfort of their classmates and teacher. Please do not schedule any appointments or trips that will cause your child to be tardy or absent on their scheduled testing dates.
If you would like more information regarding AASA and AzSCI, you can visit www.azed.gov/assessment/parents. This website will provide general resources and sample testing practice opportunities for your child.

I Spy PLC
Grade level teams are gearing up for end of the year assessments. This means targeted review and intervention instruction in reading, writing and math standards. Students receive this PLC planned small-group instruction during multiple opportunities throughout the day. Teachers are also working to determine the best lesson planning options for instruction in the remaining "new" learning for the year and reciprocal review to keep students' skills strong.
If you would like more information about PLCs, please visit our DVUSD PLC website.
