Teen Read Week Activities
Stop by the library each day this week for Teen Read Activities and to vote for the Teens' Top Ten!
All Week
- Vote on the Teens' Top Ten.
- Tell your story in 6 words with a Six Word Memoir.
- If book characters could tweet, what would they say? Make your guesses and earn a treat. And follow @MRH_Library on Twitter for more on #trw14mrhs!
- Create book themed art and book trailers...students/staff will vote on their favorites Wednesday and Thursday!
Monday
Stop in during lunch (after you eat in the cafeteria) to watch book trailers on the big screen in the Blue Classroom.
Tuesday
Stop in and made a heart bookmark or a Duct Tape bookmark. Instructions and supplies will be provided.
Wednesday
All call to students: submit your book themed artwork by October 13. We will display it in the library, and students (or staff) will vote on their favorites. The two pieces of art with the most votes will get a $10 Barnes and Noble gift card!
Thursday
Create a book trailer for your favorite book by October 13 and send it to Mrs. LaRue. We will post them on the library website, and students (or staff) will vote on their favorites. The two book trailers with the most votes will get a $10 Barnes and Noble gift card!
You may use any program to create your trailer. Want ideas? Check out Animoto, WeVideo, Narrable, and Haiku Deck. If you want help using any of these, see Mrs. LaRue during your off hours, lunch, and before/after school! Have another program you like (iMovie...)? Or you just want to shoot a video trailer? That's perfect! Just turn it in to Mrs. LaRue by October 13!
What's a book trailer anyway? Find out here.
