Operations with integers
Adding, Subtracting, Multiplying and Dividing integers
Adding and Subtracting Integers
Unlike signs subtract and stays with the sign of the bigger number and like signs add and stay with the signs.
(Two positive make a positive, two negatives make a positive, one positive and one negative make a negative and one negative and one positive make a negative.)
Adding
example 1. -7+-2= -9
example 2. 9+-13= -4
example 3. 8+-17= -9
Subtracting
example 1. 8-(-9)= 17
example 2. -7-9= -16
example 3. 4-10= -6
Multiplying and Dividing Integers
Unlike signs give you a negative answer and Like signs give you a positive answer.
example 1. -3x-2= 6
example 2. -5x9= -45
example 3. -6x6= -36
example 1. -12/ 3= -4
example 2. -20/4=-5
example 3. -36/4= -9
