Our 3rd Grade International Festival will be held on Thursday, January 28th. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask me! The SignUp Genius below will take you to the food sign-up for the day. The day will be so much fun for the kids as they get to present the information they have learned about their ancestry. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend!

Spirit Week (Jan. 11-15)

It's Spirit Week!! We will end the week with the annual Staff vs. Student basketball game on Friday night!

Curriculum Peek

Spelling/ Vocabulary: The new pattern this week "silent letters- k, b, l, t". The test will be on Friday. Students will receive a new vocabulary list this week with words about Ecosystems. The final test will be on Friday, January 22.


Math: We will be completing Topic 9, Understanding Fractions, this week. The test will be on Friday.


Science and Reading: The district is piloting two science programs in which they will choose one to adopt for next year's science curriculum. We will be piloting one of those programs in our classroom beginning this week. The topic we will be working on is Ecosystems. Students will be using materials from the National Geographic program to read and learn about ecosystems.


Writing and Social Studies: Students have finished researching the location, climate, population, language, celebrations/holidays, popular foods, sports, music, and education system of their country. This week we will be turning our notes into a draft and they will begin typing their final reports.
