I'm guessing most people don't no what Angola is, so here is a brief summary: It is in Africa, on the east coast. It is a major oil producer and has a population of 21.47 million people.
G.R.A.P.E.S.- Geography
In Angola, the average temperature is 60 degrees in the summer and 70 degrees in the winter. From may to October is the dry season and November to April is the hot, rainy season. Angola is surrounded by Zambia, Namibia and Democratic Republic of Congo.
G.R.A.P.E.S.- Religion
The main religions in Angola are Roman Catholic, Indigenous beliefs, and Protestant. Roman Catholics believe in one god. Protestants also believe in one god. Indigenous beliefs are native people who follow their own beliefs. Some holidays they celebrate in Angola are Christmas, Africa Day, and New Years Day.

A major achievement for Angola today is the independence of it. Angola was taken over by Portugal, which led a communist government. The people that lived there were starting to be sold as slaves to the Americas and other countries. Angola was one of the largest suppliers of slaves. Then, many rebel groups in Angola started to fight for independence and, they won. Angola is now an independent country.

Every five years, they have an election. There is no limit to the amount of years you can rule for. President Jose Eduardo dos Santos has been president since 1979! Also, their government is republic, which means that the people have control over who is president.

The economics of Angola are very interesting. In Angola, the major produce is oil. Many countries buy the oil from Angola and that makes their economy good. Well, except for the part that the people of Angola are suffering from poverty. See, the government has lots of money but the people do not. They are very poor. That makes Angola a rich and poor country. Also, the money in Angola is called kwanzas. The kwanzas are not allowed out of the country, it is illegal.

A sport in Angola that is popular is soccer. Their team ranked 45th in FIFA. People in Angola wear casual clothes. Women usually wear skirts and a tank-top and men wear jeans and a t-shirt especially when they are working. Traditional clothes in Angola for women are long skirts with tops that are printed and men wear skirts that are short and colorful. The food people eat in Angola is rice, with chicken or seafood. Angola is on the coast so seafood is common.
