September's Character Trait: Love
CCA has a monthly character trait, which is based on the fruits of the spirit written in Galatians 5:22-26. The students and staff implement these “fruits” into our everyday lives. This month’s character trait is love. The publication class selected three students and asked them, "What does love mean to you?" Here are their responses: Isai from fourth grade said, "love means being friendly and nice to others and not being rude". Carson from sixth grade said, "love is being kind to someone and having joy and caring for others". Kennedy from eleventh grade said, "being selfless and making sacrifices and being there for others is love". -Audrey Foster

Lady Eagles Volleyball Invitational:
On September 2nd, the varsity volleyball team traveled to Garden City for a tournament. They played five games throughout the day. They played: Training Center, Applewood, Daniel Academy, Eagle Heights, and Plaza Heights. The Lady Patriots played each team and did not lose a set throughout the entire tournament! The team played Plaza Heights for the championship game. The Patriots started the game out strong with multiple aces from the first server, Brynn. The team won against Plaza making them the champions of the tournament. Congratulations, Patriots!
Lady Patriots v. Plaza Heights:
The Patriots played Plaza Heights again on the first day of school. Junior High played first and won two out of three sets. After that game, the Junior High B-team played a practice set to fifteen. They played hard, but lost. The Varsity played next and won against them in two sets. The games were very close, but the Patriots pulled through. The Junior Varsity played a practice set to fifteen against them after the Varsity game. It was an exciting game, but they fell short in the end. Congratulations to the Junior High and Varsity Teams!
