Your Student's ISTEP+ Scores
Accessing Your DCMS Student's 2014 - 2015 ISTEP+ Scores
Access to your child's Spring 2015 ISTEP scores are now available via the Indiana Online Parent Network. The invitation code needed to log into this site were sent home with your child last week. This login information will be the same login you use each year that your child takes the ISTEP test.
If you are new to our district and/or your child took the ISTEP test in a different school district last year, then we are in the process of gaining access to those invitation codes for you. You can also contact your child's previous school for a copy of those invitation codes.
Once you have reviewed your child's results, you have the capability to request a rescore if you believe your child's results are not accurate. The Department of Education has designated this week ONLY, November 9 - 13th, as the window available to accept rescore requests. The directions on how to request the rescore are listed on the site. Requesting a rescore can only help your child’s score, not hurt it.
We will be happy to make our labs available to you if you need help accessing the information. Please contact one of our school counselors, Laura Tice or Heather Luce, if you would like access to a computer here at school.
As you review your child’s results, it is important to note that during the 2014-2015 school year, our state transitioned to a more rigorous assessment of the Indiana Academic Standards. The IDOE has indicated that statewide results on the new version of ISTEP+ will show a 16% drop in ELA and a 24% drop in Math scores. Parents should expect to see these same shifts in their child's ISTEP+ score as compared to previous years. As we receive final data from the state, we will be looking closely to better align instruction and assessment for continuous improvement.
We will do what we can to answer any questions you have or problems you that you encounter as you access your child’s 2014-15 ISTEP results.
